What's new

A running log of features and improvements.

Upgrade history & better share previews

  • Upgrade history — replace a component (chain, fork, brakes…) and the old spec is kept as a permanent entry on your bike's timeline. Visible on your private bike page and your public build page
  • Shared Bikestack links now get proper preview cards on WhatsApp, forums, and socials — your avatar with recent bikes on profile shares, cover photo with stats on individual bike shares
  • Adding the same part on both sides just got easier — brake pads, rotors, tyres, hubs and more have an "Also add the same on the rear/front" tick-box when creating, and a "Copy spec from Front/Rear" shortcut when editing
  • Plus now includes up to 300 bikes — enough to keep every bike you've ever owned in one place. Basic is now up to 5 bikes
  • The /builds directory now shows public builds to everyone, with sign-in only needed to see the full directory
  • Adding a bike now prompts you to upload a photo before finishing

Ride stats, faster navigation & under-the-hood improvements

  • Rides page now has a Stats tab — monthly activity chart, day of week and time of day patterns, weather breakdown, per-bike mileage, and personal bests
  • Stats are organised by year with a year picker — shows your full history for any year you have rides, not just the most recent 100
  • Hovering a month in the activity chart shows how many rides and total distance for that month
  • Pages now load noticeably faster on repeat visits — the app shell is cached and data is served stale-while-revalidating in the background
  • Navigating between pages no longer flashes a blank screen — previously visited pages appear instantly and refresh silently
  • Smooth fade transition between pages with the header and navigation staying fixed throughout
  • Tapping a bottom nav link now highlights it immediately before the page loads
  • After tapping "Add weather", rides that just received weather data are briefly highlighted so you can see what changed
  • Selecting a bike for a ride now shows a small spinner while saving
  • Settings page: "Exclude from analytics" button added so you can stop your own visits counting in usage stats from any device

Voice parts entry, smarter inbox & UI tweaks

  • Parts inbox (Plus): add parts you bought locally or received as a gift by voice — tap to record, Bikestack transcribes and identifies the component automatically
  • Inbox items are now matched against the component catalog for consistent naming — "Shimano XT M8100" stays "Shimano XT M8100" regardless of how it was written in the order email
  • Bottle cage, mudguard, and rack added as component types
  • The changelog is now accessible within the app with full navigation
  • A "what's new" banner on the dashboard links to the changelog
  • Model field in the component editor is now a larger text area — room for long model names
  • Bottom nav label changed from Home to Dashboard

Parts inbox, Plus badges & component autocomplete

  • Parts inbox (Plus): forward any order confirmation email to parts@bikestack.app and your components are automatically extracted and appear on your dashboard — ready to assign to a bike and log as installed
  • Plus members now have a badge on their public profile and bike build pages
  • A small star appears on the settings avatar in the nav for Plus members
  • Component forms now autocomplete brand names and model names based on what others have entered for the same component type
  • Wheel size field added to wheel components
  • Public changelog page added at bikestack.app/changelog
  • Public build pages now show Longest ride and Most climbing stats sourced from Strava, with links directly to each activity
  • On desktop, public build pages show a copyable URL field instead of a share button; mobile uses the native share sheet
  • Like button on build pages redesigned as a compact pill; bike title now takes the full width
  • Stats on public build pages displayed as bordered cards

Rides page, dashboard & photo improvements

  • Dashboard, Bikes, and Service are now one page — your bikes and overdue maintenance all in one place
  • Bike cards on the dashboard show a 16:9 cover photo thumbnail
  • Rides page redesigned as a card grid with a bike filter strip at the top
  • Bike thumbnails on the bikes list page doubled in size to 16:9
  • Forgot password and reset password flows added
  • Settings page overhauled with tabbed layout for Profile, Account, Referrals, and Data
  • How long you've owned each bike now shown on the private bike page
  • Builds page discipline filter and search layout reworked

Onboarding, referrals, account tools & component overhaul

  • Post-signup onboarding wizard walks you through setting up your profile, adding a bike, and connecting Strava
  • Referral programme: share your link and both you and your friend get a free month of Plus when they sign up
  • Account deletion and GDPR data export added to settings
  • Terms of Service and Privacy Policy published; consent gate added to signup
  • Component categories fully overhauled: corrected labels, front/rear brake split, shifters moved to cockpit, per-sub-category limits enforced
  • Speed field added to cassettes and chains
  • Spokes and spoke nipples added as wheel sub-categories
  • Strava features show a "coming soon" message for users who haven't connected yet
  • Password fields throughout the app now have a show/hide toggle

Component hours tracking & fork service defaults

  • Components now track riding time (hours) in addition to distance — useful for suspension service intervals
  • Maintenance schedules support an "hours" interval basis alongside time and distance
  • Fork service defaults seeded: Fox lower leg (30–50 h), Fox full service (125 h), RockShox lower leg (50 h), RockShox full service (100 h)
  • Component type defaults can now have child schedule types (e.g. fork lower-leg service as a child of fork)
  • Photo crop now uses a full bounding box (width + height) for more accurate focal point positioning

Bikestack launched into beta

  • Track bikes, components, and maintenance history
  • Connect Strava to auto-sync rides and mileage to your bikes
  • Weather automatically recorded for each ride
  • Add up to 3 photos per bike and 3 per component with focal point cropping
  • Share your bike as a public build page at bikestack.app/u/your-username/your-bike
  • Referral programme: both you and a friend get one free month of Plus when they sign up with your link
  • Onboarding wizard to get you set up quickly
